Background:
Adriane Johns is an industrial security consultant specializing in assisting companies navigating the facility clearance process and implementing the 32 CFR Part 117 to their security program. Ms. Johns has expertise in facility clearances, personnel security and security program management. She currently works as an FSO/ AFSO for multiple facilities operating in the NISP.
Prior to this, Ms. Johns was Chief of the Facility Clearance Branch at the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, appointed in June 2017. In this capacity, Adriane managed a team of 15 security and staff specialists assigned to oversee the facility clearance process for the Department of Defense.
Prior to this, she worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist in the Industrial Security Field Operations Directorate where she managed multiple programs and projects; and as an Industrial Security Representative in the Phoenix, Arizona Field Office. Adriane has a diverse background in security management. Her career in the security arena began as a contract Field Background Investigator for the US Office of Personnel Management. In this capacity, Adriane conducted all field work for personnel requiring a security clearance. Adriane also worked as a contract Adjudicator where she adjudicated personnel security clearances for the Department of Navy and Air Force. Adriane made recommendations to grant or deny access to classified information.
Adriane has also worked in industry as a Senior Security Officer in the Security Directorate at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and a Senior Corporate Security Officer at BAE IT Systems in Reston, Virginia. While at BAE, Adriane was responsible for corporate security training across the continental US. She was also responsible for managing personnel security clearances for BAE personnel assigned to government contracts in the National Capital Region area.
Adriane retired from federal service in December 2021.
